Here’s what we’re all about:

  • Our team endeavors to have all of our clients learn and enjoy this unique fishery, in a safe, fun and professional environment. We welcome all experience levels from first-timers to experienced pros.

  • Our captains and mates are all local to Vallarta, so you get an experience like nowhere else. And in July 2024, our fishing team achieved victories at the 2024 International Fishing Tournament Marlin & Tuna in Bahia de Banderas, securing First Place in the Dorado Division and First and Third Place in the Tuna Division!

  • We work to maintain a healthy fishery. We do not overharvest. We support catch and release.

  • We provide up-to-date resources to make planning your trip easy.

// Why arrecho?

We know what it is like to lose your engine 120 miles offshore with no back up and no epirb.  We have lived traveling up remote rivers at 2 am with no running lights and no GPS.  We have experienced excellent fishing in great destinations to be undone by improperly maintained fishing tackle.  We have been on board for medical emergencies with no first aid kit.

Taking this, we put together a bullet proof US professionally rigged Andros 32 offshore and imported it to Vallarta. All of the bells and whistles from the best in rods and reels, terminal tackle, outriggers, downriggers, properly packed first aid kits, to satellite phone, Epirb and redundant radio systems rounds out security on this offshore vessel. 

Trust us no small feat in Mexico.  Unlike the panga fleet, we maintain our equipment and are constantly resupplying and keeping everything in perfect order.  You do not have to bring the stress of worrying about running 50 miles offshore in a less than excellent vessel.  We excel where others just don’t have the capabilities to get it done as expected.

Meet
Captain Sergio

Scouring the waters from Punta Mita to Bocha Tomatlan Sergio has done it all.  Special numbers passed down from generations of fisherman to landing trophy tuna and marlin Sergio is at the top of his game.  To round out his experience Sergio spent several seasons on the border of Colombia and Panama running and gunning for massive pelagics, to casting for roosters and tarpon as a mate at a top lodge.  Bilingual and the nicest captain around Sergio is the man.

Meet scott

Scott has spent the better part of his adult life fortunate to travel to a large number of destination sport fishing locales all around the world. These experiences unveiled the good and bad in charter boats. Tapping into those experiences Scott created a plan to bring a top notch fishing program to Puerto Vallarta—and Arrecho was born.
